AST Sports Science – Company Information
AST Sports Science Company Information

AST Headquarters
AST Sports Science were launched under the name AST Nutritional Concepts and Research, by Paul Delia in 1987, which makes them one of the most well established companies in the sports nutrition industry. AST have always aimed to provide the best products, backed by genuine scientific research. Their products therefore give the results they claim and regular AST customers know that. No sales hype, no silly claims, just results. In fact, AST were the first ever supplements company to offer a 100% money back guarantee on their supplements, if results were not achieved as claimed.
AST in the News!
AST, like many other supplements brands have been in the press for various reasons, all good generally, but this one is interesting, AST Label Claims. It is nothing more than the evolution of bodybuilding supplements in my opinion and the supplements companies are always a long way in front. The additional label information referred to in the link is possibly as a result of obese people in America overdosing on ephedrine several years ago, to try and lose weight, with harmful side effects. I suppose you could compare this very roughly to an obese person drinking 30+ cups of strong coffee per day, which would probably result in similar side effects. What I am saying is that you do not need to be told not to exceed the recommended dose on the label of a stimulant, as it is obviously going to cause you harm, especially if you exceed the dose by 20-30 times! Anyway, just my opinion.
AST Re-Brand and Best Products
More recently, AST have re-designed the labelling for their products, making them look more attractive to new customers. Their product range includes:
- VP2 – Whey protein isolate
- Muscle XGF – All in one bodybuilding supplement
- BCAA-4500 – branched chain amino acids
- Multi Pro 32x – multi vitamin and mineral
- Micronised Creatine – highly effective creatine, but with no stomach cramps
AST have got a good image and for good reason, they have always promoted drug free sports nutrition, sponsoring natural bodybuilders such as Skip La Cour and more recently, strongman Brian Shaw. AST are one of the best companies, I can tell you that, but I cannot tell you who the worst are for obvious reasons. I use VP2 myself and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to purchase a protein supplement, as the results, taste, digestion, etc. speak for themselves.
