Bodybuilding Meals which are Difficult to Prepare

There are countless websites, magazines and so called experts out there who promote ‘healthy meals’ for bodybuilding, or to enable you to build more muscle mass. However, everywhere you look, you are either given a sales pitch about some new supplement, or the meal isn’t something that the majority of us will ever bother ourselves to consider. I’m talking about meals such as:

Meal 1 – Difficult to Prepare

Ingredients

Picture

Directions

2 Baking Potatoes

1 medium red bell pepper, diced

2 avocados – peeled, pitted & mashed

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

1/4 cup olive oil

2 green onions, sliced

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

3 tablespoons lime juice

salt & black pepper to taste

1 cup grated Cheddar cheese

Avocado Stuffed Jackets

Bake potatoes for 40 minutes, or until tender, turning occasionally.

In a bowl, mix the red pepper, avocado, cilantro, olive oil, green onions, cumin and lime juice.</li

Cut potatoes in half lengthwise, and fluff the centers with a fork. Top with the avocado stuffing. Season with salt and pepper, and top with shredded Cheddar cheese.

Bodybuilding Meals which are Easy to Prepare

The above meal sounds great and would be a healthy choice. But, would you ever make it? I wouldn’t, It’d be too much effort getting all of the ingredients in and cooking it all up when instead you can prepare the following meal…

Meal 2 – Easy to Prepare

Ingredients

3 eggs

1 breadcake

half a tin of beans

Boiled Egg and Beans on a Toasted Breadcake... mmm!

Directions

put 3 large eggs in a pan of boiling water for 9 minutes

Warm up some beans in another pan

While the eggs are boiling, cut your breadcake in half and toast it and butter it

Enjoy!

In the real world, 9 times out of 10 you are going to eat a meal like meal 2, where you have the ingredients in the fridge and you can prepare the meal in 10 minutes. As a bodybuilder, this is what you need, a high protein meal, which is readily available, but for some reason, no other website or any magazine promote easy meals like egg and beans. The nutritional information for meal 2 is below:

Nutritional Information for Meal 2

Nutrient

Amount

(Calories)

(620)

Protein

42g

Carbs

79g

Fat

15g

You can see from the table, egg and beans on toast gives you the nutrition required for building muscles. There are plenty of calories coming from a complete and high quality protein source, low GI carbs and some good fats. You can reduce the calories and fat by only eating the egg whites, or by scrambling egg whites to go with the beans, with a 6g reduction in protein, so the meal reduces to 460 calories. You can tweak the meal to suit your requirements for whether you are bulking up, maintaining, or cutting.

p.s. Meal 1 is higher fat and lower protein than meal 2 and doesn’t taste too good anyway. In my opinion, consuming meals like meal 2 and supplementing your diet with pine seeds, sunflower seeds, etc. blended in your protein shakes and a palm full of cashews here and there is the best solution to eating healthy and high protein without the hassle. Adding 2-3 meal replacement shakes to your diet per day would also provide your body with more than the RDA of all vitamins and minerals.

Regards,

Benefits of CNP Pro Mass

CNP Pro Mass is the perfect weight gain formula for anyone requiring additional calories in their diet. CNP Pro Mass isn’t just about calories though, the calories are all from high quality macronutrients, i.e. CNP’s advanced, time released protein blend, low GI carbohydrates and a small amount of good fats. This combination makes CNP Pro Mass one of the most popular supplements in the weight gainer category.

Taste: Very good taste, nice flavour and texture. Can be used 2-3 times a day for weeks without getting fed up of it.
Cost: Prices vary, but at the time of writing this article, our prices, including delivery are £19.24, £29.24 and £47.24 for 908g, 2.5Kg and 4.5Kg respectively. Other reputable sites may charge £1-3 less, but at checkout add £5.99 for delivery.
Quality: Pro Mass is top quality, there’s no doubting that. However, we wondered whether the carbohydrates should come from a very low GI source such as barley like with Reflex products, but Glycemic Load is more of an issue than Glycemic Index and as such, the difference in Glycemic Load from one serving of Pro Mass if compared to a new Pro Mass, using barley, the most noticeable difference would be the cost. Also, maltodextrin is much more easily digested than lower GI sources and so it can be argued that using a lower GI carbohydrate source reduces the overall quality of the product, whilst increasing the price tag.
Digestibility: No issues reported. CNP products tend to sit well with most people, as long as you aren’t combining them with Nitric Oxide boosters, as excessive arginine can give some people the runs.

CNP Pro Mass Further Information

As shown in the table, you can get twice as many servings if you mix with milk and the nutritional side is not much different. The main differences are that you will be consuming much more sugar, due to the lactose content of milk and getting half as much fibre. Is it an issue? Not really… if you are following a mass gain program and training hard, I doubt you will notice a difference. The main thing is that your Pro Mass will last you longer.

CNP Pro Mass Ingredients and Descriptions

Straight from the CNP website, here are the main ingredients, along with descriptions:

Maltodextrin – An easily digestible form of carbohydrate made from natural corn starch. Maltodextrin is the preferred carbohydrate used in energy foods due to its solubility, low taste profile, and quick absorption. Maltodextrin is the primary source of complex carbohydrates.

Fibre – A carbohydrate made up from the indigestible parts of plants, which passes through our digestive system relatively unchanged. There are two types of fibre: soluble and insoluble and both will slow down the absorption of carbohydrates and proteins.

Whey Protein High Fraction Concentrate – an undenatured fast released protein containing higher levels of growth factors than normal whey protein concentrates.

Micellar Casein – This is the only form of Casein (and costs three times the price of whey) proven to be anti-catabolic. This is because of its undenatured properties and slow release into the blood stream enabling amino acids to be on hand for the muscle to repair and grow. The blend of proteins in Pro Mass is very important, the combination of whey (Fast acting) and Micellar Casein (Slow acting) allows a steady stream of amino acids (complete protein) into the blood stream for repair and growth.

Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT) – Medium chain triglycerides are a shorter chain than the long chain triglycerides and are fats (9 calories per gram) that are easier to digest than other fats.

CNP Pro Mass Conclusion

If you want to gain lean muscular weight quickly, whilst following a high intensity weight training program, CNP Pro Mass is the perfect product. Consuming six high protein meals per day is made much easier when you can simply drink a tasty milkshake for three of your six meals. Also, people who struggle to gain weight, will find it much easier when using Pro Mass. It is a great product, from a very well known, long established and reputable manufacturer. However, if you want something a little bit more potent, check out our Allmax Quickmass Review.

What are the benefits of supplementing a normal diet with extra protein, compared to following a high protein normal food diet?

<g:plusone href="http://www.promartsupplements.co.uk/blog/normal-food-vs-protein-supplements-for-bodybuilding/"></g:plusone>

Okay, so you are getting into bodybuilding and want to gain as much muscle as you can, as quick as possible, right? That means that you need to eat 6 or more high protein meals per day, which is a big task for anyone. You can use meal replacement powders such as CNP Pro MR, Nutrabolics Fighters Food, or Dymatize Elite for up to three of your daily meals, but what about the rest?

Nutritional Requirements For Muscular Growth

First of all, you should work out your daily nutritional requirements, using our macronutrient calculator. If you eat six meals per day, divide the totals by six and you have your nutritional requirements per meal. Assuming you use three meal replacements per day, then for your other three meals, you could easily reach your requirements by topping up your protein consumption by supplementing these meals with a whey protein shake.

Bodybuilders’ Typical Daily Diet Using Protein Supplements

If you use lots of protein supplements, your diet would look like this:

7am: Porridge + Whey Protein Shake

9:30am: Meal Replacement, banana, apple

12pm: Salad Sandwich in Wholemeal Bread + Whey Protein Shake

2:30pm: Meal Replacement, banana

5:30pm: Evening Meal + Whey Protein Shake

8pm: Meal Replacement + Wholemeal Toast with Peanut Butter

Bodybuilders’ Typical Daily Diet Without Supplements

If you don’t want to use supplements, then here are some easy meal options which are high protein and suitable for bodybuilding:

7am:

Boiled or Scrambled Eggs on Wholemeal Toast1

Porridge + Semi Skimmed Milk

9:30am: Packet of Noodles, 600ml of semi skimmed milk

12pm:

Tuna, Chicken, Turkey, Beef, Extra Lean Corned Beef or Ham salad sandwich in wholemeal bread

Jacket Potato with Cheese & Beans, Cottage Cheese or Tuna

2:30pm: Same as 12pm

5:30pm: Evening Meal2

8pm: 600ml of semi skimmed milk + wholemeal toast with peanut butter3

Notes:
1 Egg yolks and egg whites contain similar amounts of protein, but the yolks contain most of the fat, with the whites being virtually fat free. Depending upon your nutritional requirements, you could therefore either have 8 egg whites, 4 whole eggs or a combination. By the way, cooked eggs are nearly twice as absorbable as raw eggs, so make sure you cook them for best results and also to avoid salmonella. Similar to the eggs, consume as much or as little toast as required to meet your nutritional requirements.
2 Your evening meal should contain a good source of protein, such as fish, poultry, lean meat, etc. If it doesn’t, then drink 600ml of semi skimmed milk with your meal (roughly 1 pint), for an additional 20g of protein.
3 milk contains micellar casein which is a slow digesting protein and combining this with low GI slow digesting food like peanut butter on toast helps keep your muscles fed with amino acids for longer dduring the night, avoiding muscle loss while you sleep.

Normal Food vs Protein Supplements – Conclusion

To meet your nutritional requirements supplements aren’t required. Regular food provides everything you need. However, your diet will include less protein, but much more sugars and fats, compared with a diet that includes protein supplements. For example, a pint of milk provides roughly 270 calories, 19g of protein, 28g of sugar and 9g of fat. Comparing that to 1 scoop of whey protein in 200ml of water, which provides 100 calories, 23g protein, 2g sugar and 0g fat, you can immediately see the difference. The main effects upon your progression as a bodybuilder if you don’t use protein supplements are as follows:

Less anabolic environment for gaining muscle, due to lesser, lower quality protein intake, so results will be slower and limited

More likely to hold body fat, unless additional cardio is performed, 3-4 days per week

My Advice

My advice… at least get some whey protein, it works out at around £0.35 per serving, so is cheaper than any regular food per gram of protein, whilst being made from milk. If you don’t like the idea of using supplements, then don’t worry about whey protein, it is basically skimmed milk, but without the sugar or micellar casein (other form of protein in milk).

Regards,

Since being about 4 years old I have suffered from eczema. Skin contact with fruit juices, high pollen counts, being too hot, etc. can all be triggering factors for the itching. Until I was about 17, the only guaranteed way to help my eczema was going abroad on holiday. Whether it was the changed diet, with more fresh food, salads, olive oil, etc. or the sun, sea and sand, I don’t know, but every time I went abroad, my eczema vanished completely. However, now I am 29, I know another guaranteed way of controlling my eczema.

Bodybuilding Lifestyle

I have always been good at sports, with a very good natural physique. I have also always had an interest in bodybuilding, owning my own weights bench and dumbbells from my early teens. At 17 or 18, I started going to the gym 3 days per week, every week. I never do anything by halves, I take everything to extremes and when I started training three times per week, I was training balls to the wall ultra high intensity. I used perfect form and slow rep cadence, which is a killer in terms of lactic acid build up on some supersets, especially for the quads. Training in this fashion results in massive muscular gains in minimum time if you follow a very good diet, to avoid overtraining your body. My constant diet reminder was my constant aching muscles, which, along with my dedication to the sport of bodybuilding, resulted in very, very good progress, with both muscle size and strength increases noticeable on a weekly basis.

My Typical Daily Diet

My typical daily diet when training is high protein, low sugar, low in bad fats, low GI and high in vitamins, minerals and good fats.

Breakfast: scrambled eggs / egg whites on wholemeal toast

Mid Morning Snack: CNP Pro MR meal replacement drink

Lunch: Tuna salad sandwich in wholemeal bread, pint of semi skimmed milk

Mid Afternoon Snack: CNP Pro MR meal replacement drink

Evening Meal: Chicken, salad, jacket potato, cottage cheese

Mid Morning Snack: CNP Pro MR meal replacement drink

I would also add a palm full of pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds and also include a spoon full of flax seed oil in my meal replacement drinks.

Noticeably Improved Eczema in Weeks

Within weeks of following this challenging training programme and diet regime, my eczema, which was quite bad at the time, cleared up completely. I slept better every night and felt better through the day. Over the past 12 years or so, for various reasons, I have had to stop training 3-4 times for a couple of months. Every time I stopped training, I struggled to keep to my clean diet and for some reason my eczema came back. I haven’t been to the gym for about 6 months now and my eczema is the worst it has been for a long time. In my head, I am thinking, oh well, I’m starting back at the gym next week and it’ll go straight away. I also thought it would be a good idea to pass this information on to anyone else out there who suffers from eczema/dermititis, so that they can give bodybuilding a try too.

Conclusion

In my personal opinion, I think that the main factors associated with bodybuilding below, help eczema in a big way:

drinking more water results in better hydrated skin

higher amounts of protein, vitamins, minerals and good fats from the meal replacement shakes and the seeds increase overall health and optimise bodily functions

different hormone levels in the body resulting from the weight lifting sessions

better sleep

Bearing in mind that the only common denomator between holidays to the med and bodybuilding, with regards their positive effects on my eczema is the better diet, which is high in fresh fruit, vegetables and good fats and being more active. I am therefore wondering if simply consuming three servings of CNP Pro MR per day and exercising three times per week would reduce eczema for everyone? Please let me know how you get on by leaving your comments below.

Disclaimer: as this article is based upon personal experiences, I have not looked at any other articles (if they exist) on this subject as I wanted to explain everything exactly as I know it. Whether this would work for anyone else remains to be seen, but you should note that before you start any new exercise or diet programme, you should always consult your GP beforehand.

As owner of Promart Supplements, I am sick and tired of seeing weight loss programmes devised by scheming individuals who are first and foremost looking to make money, at the expense of frustrated people who want to improve themselves. The majority of these diets you hear about from your friends and see on TV are rubbish. They aren’t good for you and they rarely give the results they advertise.

Weight loss is not simple, but if you can follow the 8 tips below, then you will lose weight healthily, progressively and best of all, you will retain and even increase your muscle tone – meaning that once you lose the excess body fat, your physique will be much more athletic. Here are the rules:

Consume between 10 calories per day for every pound that you weigh, i.e. if you weigh 12 stones, that is 12 x 14 = 168 pounds, so consume approximately 1680 calories per day. This amount of calories will create a calorie deficit, without being so low that it puts your body into starvation mode, where your metabolism slows down.

Split your daily calorie intake over 5 small, low sugar, low fat, high protein, even sized meals to reduce insulin spikes to regulate energy levels, reduce hunger and avoid the accumulation of body fat; show your body there is an abundance of food available and so your long term energy stores (fat) are not so important and can be used; boost your metabolism; and maintain/increase muscle tone

Drink more water, i.e. 8-10 glasses per day, as drinking more water can boost your metabolism by up to 30%

Sleep 8-9 hours per night at the same times every night

Do not drink alcohol

Eat the right foods for weight loss. This means avoid sugary and fatty foods and keep protein intake fairly high, using protein shakes if necessary. Ideally, you should consume less than 5g sugar per meal. This means that ready meals are not an option. A typical diet is shown below.

Perform low intensity cardio sessions, first thing on a morning before breakfast, when your hormone levels and depeleted glycogen levels put your body in the perfect place for fat loss. Note: at other times of the day, you are likely to use a small amount of fat, glycogen stores in your liver (from food) and also some muscle mass will be used for energy, through a process called gluconeogenesis. Three or four 40 minute sessions per week will provide the best results, but remember to aim for low intensity, i.e. 60% of your max heart rate for your age.

Perform high intensity anaerobic exercise 3-4 times per week, to increase muscle tone and strength. Don’t worry about getting big and muscly, as consuming just 10 calories per day for every pound of bodyweight, whilst exercising regularly, will not provide your body with enough calories for your muscles to grow big, although they will get much more toned.

Consume plenty of fruit and vegetables, as their nutritional benefits help weight loss and improve your overall health and appearance. However, you should only consume fruit in small portions, typically on a morning and before/after exercise due to their high sugar content.

Consider using supplements, such as protein supplements to boost low protein meals, meal replacement powders to provide 2 of your 5 meals per day, multivitamins to make up for lack of fruit and veg in your diet and green tea to burn an extra 100 calories or so per day for every 3-4 cups. I wouldn’t bother with other supplements such as fat burners, fat blockers or carb blockers as following the above tips means you don’t need them. They are worthwhile supplements for bodybuilders wanting to reduce body fat levels below normal ranges, but not so much for normal weight loss.

Be consistent. Results won’t happen overnight. I can guarantee success to anyone who follows all of the above points, but unfortunately only a small numbe rof people will, whilst the rest will part follow some of the tips for a couple of weeks then try something else. Don’t let that happen. Get motivated. Forget eating a single sweet, chocolate, biscuit, or anything like that and see where you end up in three months. When it works, get in touch and let me know your progress. Small improvements every week add up to a new physique after a few months.

Let me know how you get on, but be consistent. If you are going to follow these tips, follow all of them precisely, or results will be greatly affected. However, before undertaking any new diet or exercise programme, please make sure you consult your GP beforehand.

The most convenient and worthwhile bodybuilding supplement has got to be the meal replacement powder (MRP). When you HAVE TO eat 6-8 high protein meals per day, reducing that number by 2-4 can really make things easier. Your other meals can simply be breakfast, lunch and dinner, like ‘normal people’.

You could use a carb powder mixed with a whey protein powder, to form a cheap meal replacement, but it would not contain vitamins and minerals like meal replacements, nor would it contain a blend of fast and slow protein sources. It would also be high GI/GL, which is not good unless it is a post-workout shake.

So, going back to MRPs, use 2-4 per day and eat 3-4 normal meals per day, to ensure a minimum of 6 high protein, small meals, per day. If your normal meals are low in protein, you can easily top them up with a scoop of whey protein powder, adding around 20g of protein and less than 100 calories to the meal.

All in all, MRPs are the best bodybuilding supplement out there, because they allow the average person to achieve a perfect, high protein bodybuilders’ diet, whilst being full of vitamins, minerals, good fats and other quality ingredients that provide postive health benefits in a nice tasting, easily digestible form. One thing to remember is that the vitmain content in individual sachets of MRPs, like CNP Pro MR and EAS Myoplex does not lose quality, like it would if it were in a tub. These vitamins and minerals improve protein metabolism and other bodily functions which increase your strength training capabilites, so play an important part in your overall diet and supplement programme.

One other benefit of using 2-4 meal replacements and 2-3 whey protein shakes per day is that you will also be increasing the amount of water you drink per day, which if you are anything like me and don’t drink enough water, will help your efforts considerably.

Why Do I Need A High Protein Diet?

If you have started a weight training programme and you want to get the best results possible, then you need to provide your body with the nutrients required for muscular growth. As muscle is mainly made up of protein and water, it makes sense that you need more protein in your diet to gain more muscle. But, as your body needs protein every 2-3 hours, you need to consume protein every 2-3 hours, to stop your body from breaking down your muscles. You should note that during every second of every day your body is either gaining muscle (anabolic state or anabolism, equivalent to having a positive nitrogen balance) or losing muscle (catabolic state or catabolism, equivalent to having a negative nitrogen balance). You can control this somewhat with your diet and this is why EVERY successful athlete, bodybuilder or sports person eats at least 5-6 highly nutritional, high protein meals per day.

So How Much Protein Do I Need To Consume Per Day?

There has been lots of debate about this subject, but the general consensus is that you need between 1 and 1.5 grams of protein for every pound of bodyweight per day, EVERY day, to keep your body in an anabolic, muscle building state. For example if you weigh 180lbs, you need between 180g and 240g of protein per day. Our macronutrient calculator provides more guidnace on this subject.

Why Do I Need To Use Protein Supplements?

Now you know how much protein you need per day. Next step, divide that number by the number of meals you eat per day, usually 6 and this is the amount of protein you need per meal. So, again, if you weigh 180lbs, you need 180/6= 30g to 240/6= 40g of protein per meal. So, you would aim to consume about 35g of protein every 2 to 3 hours of every day, i.e. 6am, 9am, 12pm, 3pm 6pm and 9pm. So how are you going to get all of that protein, without consuming a massive amount of calories and getting fat? Well, you could either live off chicken, tuna and cottage cheese, whilst spending your life in the kitchen, or you could follow a diet like the one below:

6am: 2 scrambled eggs, 2 slice of wholemeal toast, whey protein shake

9am: Meal Replacement Shake

12pm: Lunch, whey protein shake

3pm: Meal Replacement Shake

6pm: Evening Meal + whey protein, if meal lacking in protein

9pm: Micellar Casein Shake, 1 slice of wholemeal toast with peanut butter

Whey Protein, Micellar Casein & Meal Replacements – Optimum Usage

As already mentioned, you want to keep your body anabolic, so that you are continuously gaining muscle. So, first thing on a morning, you want some fast releasing protein with your breakfast, i.e. whey protein – whey protein concentrate, isolate, or hydrolysate are all effective on a morning – hydrolysate is slightly better, than isolate, which is slightly better than concentrate, but it doesn’t matter much at this time.

During the day, between regular meals, consume a meal replacement shake as they contain about 40g of fast, medium and slow releasing proteins, are low sugar, low fat and also contain most of your recommended daily allowance (RDA) of vitamins and minerals, which improve your overall health and performance. With regular meals, if they don’t contain your 30g to 40g of protein required per meal, then top them up with a scoop of whey protein.

Before bed, you want a protein that provides a slow release and digests slowly, to keep your body in an anabolic state for as long as possible. Micellar Casein is ideal, as it has been shown in trials retain a positive nitrogen balance in individuals for up to 7 hours.

Nearly forgot… you also need to make sure that as well as your protein, your calories need to be spread out evenly throughout the day to increase energy levels, regulate insulin levels and maximise absorption of nutrients. Another rule of thumb is to consume between 15 and 20 calories per day for every pound of bodyweight. Also, drink 8-10 glasses of water per day to keep hydrated – it will allow you to lift more!

Now You Are Anabolic, Get To The Gym!

Now your body is in the perfect environment for muscle growth, you need to stimulate that muscle growth by going to the gym and lifting heavy weights 2-4 times per week, depending upon the individual. I can get away with 2 sessions, but I train to an extremely high intensity which has taken over 10 years to make perfect. If you are fairly new to the gym or you are young and recover quickly, 3 or 4 sessions per week is okay. Research HIT style routines, Ellington Darden style training, Braun series of books by Stuart McRobert and Dorian Yates style training. This will give you all the tools to you need to set up your own perfect routine, that gives progressive results week after week, year after year.

Do Vitamins Go Off in a Week?

The front page headline of the Metro today said “Stored vitamins go off in a week“. The Metro article was based upon some recent US research that could have a serious affect on the £600m/year vitamin and health supplements industry. The research stated that whilst the vitamins can become degraded, the product will still be safe to use, but less effective.

Before you start worrying that your supplements are no longer effective, it should be noted that the research is based upon supplements that are kept in humid locations, such as the kitchen or the bathroom. When the lids are taken off, the moisture from the humid atmospheres enters the tub and can destroy the product. Most people keep supplements in the kitchen, which is fine, as long as you only take the lids off when the window is open and the humidity is normal, i.e. not when you are cooking. Also, make sure your hands are dry, to avoid allowing any water into the tubs.

Don’t throw your Supplements Away!

If you have protein supplements with added vitamins and minerals at home in your kitchen or bathroom and you think that they have been affected, then don’t throw them away, just continue using them as protein supplements. You will still get the benefit from the protein, just not the vitamins.

Avoid Vitamin Degradation with Meal Replacement Shakes

To avoid these problems altogether, you could consider using meal replacement supplements – which are loaded with vitamins and minerals and come in individual sachets. This means that as soon as you open the sachets, they will be mixed, then consumed, meaning no time for degradation of the vitamins.

One last thing… don’t believe everything you read in the papers, it could all be hype! Either way, avoid the moisture!

Regards,

CNP Professional Pro-MS – Meal Replacement Diet Shake for Women

CNP Professional, based in Manchester, are a long established company that manufacture a variety of sports supplements, used heavily worldwide. One of CNP’s most popular products is called Pro-MS, which was the first meal replacement diet shake manufactured specifically for women trying to lose weight, whilst improving health and energy levels.

Pro-MS, from CNP Professional is a meal replacement diet shake for women. Each box of Pro-MS contains 15 individually wrapped sachets, which can be mixed easily in water for a great tasting low calorie, high quality, thermogenic shake – perfect for helping you reach your fat loss goals.

What makes Pro-MS the best Diet Shake for Women Trying to Lose Weight?

Pro-MS has a low Glycemic Index (GI), due it’s low sugar content. But, more importantly, Pro-MS provides a low Glycemic Load, which means that it will help maintain steady insulin levels, which are required for fat loss. This is because the carbohydrates in Pro-MS come from multigrain food sources, rather than cheaper sugary sources.

Pro-MS also contains more protein than rival products, with 25g per serving. The protein in Pro-MS comes from a mixture of high quality, expensive sources, i.e. micellar casein, whey protein high fraction concentrate, soy protein concentrate with phytoestrogens and peptide bonded glutamine – The benefits of each of these protein sources is described below. Other products use cheaper sources of protein, which are less effective, i.e. skimmed milk powder, which contains high amounts of sugar.

Pro-MS is also very low in fats, with the fats included in Pro-MS being good fats, that have purposely been added for their health and weight loss benefits.

Below is a table showing the macronutrient information for Pro-MS, along with details of the benefits of each type of nutrient making up the macronutrients.

An added benefit of Pro-MS is that it also contains bifidus, acidophilus and yoghurt organisms, which are the healthy bacteria needed to promote an efficient digestive system, which will enable you to metabolise more nutrients.
