Meal Replacement

Meal replacement Powders (also called Meal Replacement Shakes or MRPs) are a fast, convenient way for bodybuilders, boxers, rugby players, etc. to get a nutritionally perfect meal. Typical meal replacements give around 40g protein, 25g carbohydrates and a couple of grams of fat (comprising EFAs and MCTs), plus a perfect ratio of vitamins and minerals for optimum health and physical performance.

Other forms of Meal Replacement Supplements

All of the above types of meal replacement supplements have their own benefits. For example, bars, flapjacks and ready to drink shakes are a good type of supplement to bring to work, as you can eat them at any time and they don't need to be mixed with water, or refrigerated. The powders are best if you have the facilities to mix with water, as they usually contain a high proportion of your recommended daily allowances of vitamins and minerals and generally work out cheaper.

Sachets or tubs of powders are available. Sachets give an accurate amount of each ingredient per serving and are very convenient, whereas the tubs allow for a custom meal replacement size and can be cheaper.
